Child benefits are designed to assist families with the expenses associated with raising children. Timeline: 50 Years of Families in Canada
 
This infographic, published in May by the Vanier Institute of the Family, as part of their 50th Anniversary celebrations, captures how families, family experiences and family policy in Canada have evolved over the past 50 years. It is the first in a series that will chronicle the history of Families in Canada.
